Available from Monolithic Power Systems is a selection of plug-and-play DC power modules for a range of applications. Using proprietary monolithic technology processes, mEZ modules provide efficient, compact, inherently cost-effective, configurable and scalable power solutions for DC-DC step down, step up, PoE and USB charger applications, with pre-programmed output voltage options available.
Included in the range is the mEZD71201A-X, a 3-pin step down converter with a 4,5-24 V input range and selectable output voltage from 1-5 V. It delivers 1,2 A load current and achieves up to 94% efficiency with a 400 kHz default switching frequency. Housed on a 20 x 10 x 4 mm board (excluding connector), the module has integrated over-current, over-voltage and over-temperature protection.
Another module, the mEZD81260A, is an open-frame power supply with a dual 30 A output or single 60 A output, across a voltage range of 0,5-3,3 V; the input voltage range is 5-16 V. Features include 1% output accuracy, differential remote voltage sensing for both rails, fast COT control, individual EN and power good indicator, readback including VIN, VOUT, IOUT and TEMP, and programmability via PMBus. Housed in a 15,5 x 25 x 7 mm LGA package, the device is protected against over-current, under- and over-voltage, and over-temperature conditions.
