Conlog, a subsidiary of the JSE-listed Conlog Holdings, and one of South Africa's major manufacturers of electronic products, continues to grow its contract manufacturing order book in line with industry trends. According to Cuan Watkins, Conlog's Contract Manufacturing's Divisional Manager
"The high technology contract manufacturing industry is growing at a rate of 25% per year. The reason for this is that electronic companies are focusing on their core activities such as design and development and outsourcing manufacturing. Conlog is in an ideal position to provide a cost-effective service as we have invested in state-of-the-art electronic manufacturing equipment and produce products that comply with all of the major international quality standards," says Watkins.
Conlog has received orders from a prestigious list of customers including Netstar, Prism, Safecash Technologies, Nanoteq and Tellumat.
"As an ISO9001 and QS9000 accredited company, experienced in the manufacture of electronic and electro-mechanical equipment, Conlog provides reliable, high quality products to meet the increasing demand for card-based commerce. Conlog is also inter- nationally price competitive which allows us to compete in the export market, and has the surface mount technology capability to place 55 000 components per hour. Conlog has the experience and technology to provide turnkey manufacturing including engineering consultancy, component procurement, prototyping, SMD (surface mount device) and leaded printed circuit board assembly, functional testing, packaging and just-in-time shipment", Watkins added.
"Conlog has recognised that to be a major player in the field of contract manufacturing, it is not sufficient just to be price competitive and technically competent. What is important to our customers is that we can offer them hassle-free manufacturing and it is this added-value service that is attracting and keeping customers", concludes Watkins.
