Datalogger automated humidity and temperature monitoring

30 January 2002 Manufacturing / Production Technology, Hardware & Services

Spescom MeasureGraph has made the task of monitoring relative humidity and temperature (RH/T) in laboratory, manufacturing, and field settings easier with the introduction of the Fluke 5000A-RH/T relative humidity and temperature datalogger. It provides calibration laboratories with the ability to measure, digitise, log, and report humidity and temperature information with near absolute accuracy. The data can be seamlessly interfaced with Fluke's MET/CAL software providing automated recording of data.

The Fluke 5000A-RH/T is a compact and convenient alternative to pen-style humidity chart recorders and bulky temperature monitors. It can be operated while connected to a computer in a realtime mode or placed in standalone logging mode in a remote location for up to several years. More accurate than barrel or circular recorders, it does not need paper changes and virtually eliminates transposing errors. The instrument is supported by Fluke's MET/CAL calibration software suite.

The datalogger comes complete with RS232 cable and Spectrum Windows configuration software for Windows 95/98/NT. Advanced Spectrum software provides users control over data files, measurement units ((C) or (F; RH or dewpoint) sampling rate, and PC chart display features, while making custom reporting and analysis simpler.

The logger has 2% RH accuracy (10 to 95% RH) and 0,05 accuracy at 25°C (0,25 over -20 to 70°C) at one year spec. It offers high precision through sample rates from 10 s to 24 h that can be set by the user. The unit holds up to 21 500 readings and its compact size (71 x 53 x 18 mm) requires little space. It comes equipped with magnetic strips that make temporary mounting easy.
