AC/DC probes for safe, accurate and nonintrusive current measurement

13 March 2002 Test & Measurement

LEM has expanded its range of AC/DC current probes with the new PR620, PR630, PR1520 and PR1520 products. These probes offer high performance, 1% accuracy, high bandwidth up to 20 kHz, large jaws suitable for larger conductor diameters of up to 35 mm (PR620/PR630) and 55 mm (PR1520/PR1530) and ease of use facilitated by pushbutton operated auto zero functioning. This allows fast and reliable elimination of any DC offset and the facility to select either continuous operation for data logging operations or a 30 min auto-power-off feature to maximise battery life.

The range comprises: PR620 and PR150 current probes, offering dual dynamic ranges of 60/600 A r.m.s. (PR630) and 150/1500 A r.m.s. (PR1520). The probes have 4 mm safety connectors for use with multimeters and similar recording instruments for measurements up to a frequency of 10 kHz.

PR630 and PR1530 current probes offering dual dynamic ranges of 60/600 A r.m.s. (PR630) and 150/1500 A r.m.s (PR1530). The probes have BNC connectors for use with oscilloscopes and similar recording instruments for measurements up to a frequency of 20 kHz.

The range complies with the relevant parts of BSEN61010, Safety Standard IEC1010-2-032 - 600 V r.m.s., Category III, Pollution Degree 2 and EMC standard: EN61326: 1998.
