Tiny shielded power inductors

13 March 2002 Passive Components

With a footprint of just 3,7 x 3,7 mm, Coilcraft says its new 1008PS Series of surface-mount power inductors is an attractive alternative to larger and more costly shielded parts. At 2,6 mm high they are suited for applications requiring magnetic shielding, at the smallest possible size. Typical uses include notebook computers, PC cards, wireless communication and handheld devices. The specially designed ferrite cover provides magnetic shielding and the best possible surface for pick-and-place handling.

Coilcraft's 1008PS Series includes 26 models with inductance values from 1 to 1000 µH and saturation current ratings up to 3 A.
