Mercury Electronics Europe has announced a new range of wide operating temperature crystal oscillators that are suitable for use in automotive applications.
The new surface mount HY series offers 15 pF load LVCMOS output at frequencies from 1,25 to 50,0 MHz over the temperature range -40°C to +125°C, with a choice of frequency stability of ±50 and ±100 ppm. Frequency stability of ±25 ppm is also available over commercial (-10°C to +70°C) and industrial (-40°C to +85°C) ranges. The company can also provide non-standard frequency stability specifications if required, such as ±20 or ±30 ppm.
Offering phase noise characteristics of -155 dBc/Hz at 10 kHz and -160 dBc/Hz at 100 kHz offset, the oscillators are available in three package sizes: 3,2 x 2,5 x 1,0 mm, 5,0 x 3,2 x 1,2 mm and 7,0 x 5,0 x 1,4 mm. Supply voltages for these are 1,8, 2,5 and 3,3 V respectively, and typical current consumption is 2 to 4 mA from 1,25 to 19,99 MHz and 4 to 6 mA from 20,0 to 50,0 MHz, depending on package size.
RMS phase jitter is 150 fs typical (12 kHz to 20 MHz integrated). Specifications include ageing of ±2,0 ppm/year maximum for the first year, startup time of 5,0 ms maximum, rise/fall time of 10 ns maximum and duty cycle (symmetry) of 50% ±10% typical with ±5% available as an option.
