A new compressed air cooling system can eliminate downtime caused by unclean, overheated controls. It replaces hot unclean air in an enclosure with cool, clean air. The VCool manufactured by McLean, is exceptionally reliable because there are no moving parts that can break. The company says the VCool compressed air cooling system offers an effective, affordable way to protect enclosed electronics. It is designed to operate on small enclosures in which mounting space is limited, or in extremely high temperatures or corrosive environments. VCool uses compressed air through a vortex tube; a unique device that creates a vortex from the blowing air and separates it into hot and cold airstreams. Cooling capacities from 400 to 2500 BTU/H in NEMA type 12, 4 and 4X ratings are available. Each VCool system includes a vortex tube, thermostat, solenoid and ducting kit.
