The XC161CJ is a new derivative of the Infineon Technologies' popular C166 microcontroller family of full featured 16-bit single-chip CMOS microcontrollers. Based on the enhanced C166S V2 architecture it is claimed to outperform existing 16 bit solutions. The XC161CJ combines the extended functionality and performance of the C166S V2 Core with powerful on-chip peripheral subsystems and Flash memory. The high flexibility of this architecture serves the diverse needs of different applications such as automotive, industrial control, or datacoms. Some key features: single clock cycle instruction execution (25 ns) on 40 MHz CPU clock; 16 priority-level interrupt system on 8 group levels; 8 KB on-chip RAM; 128 KB advanced program Flash memory; 12-channel 10-bit ADC, conversion time < 3 µs; TwinCAN module, two full-CAN nodes with 32 message buffers and gateway function; up to 103 I/O lines with individual bit adressability. Device comes in P-TQFP-144 package.
