Circuit & System Protection
A new lightning surge protector from Webb Industries has been introduced to protect sensitive equipment.
The PolyPhaser DSX-D surge protector is designed to work from 0,8 to 2,2 GHz and is fully weatherised. Maximum surge is 30 kA (IEC 100-4-5); VSWR less than and equal to 1,1:1; insertion loss less than and equal to 0,1 dB; continuous power rating at 900 MHz - 1000 W at 20°C; let through voltage less than and equal to ±3 V for 3 kA 8/20 waveform; throughput energy less than and equal to 0,5 µJ for 3 kA 8/20 waveform and termination 7/16 DIN both sides.
The full range of PolyPhaser products has proved to be one of the most successful and comprehensive in protecting sensitive equipment against lightning surges according to the manufacturer. PolyPhaser's research shows that the most effective way to protect sensitive equipment is by protecting the lightning surge from entering the facility where the equipment is housed. Various products have been developed for this purpose.
