Miniature multilayer varistors

BCcomponents has extended its popular range of varistors when it launched the new smaller 0603 size multilayer varistor (MLV). This MLV is designed for surge suppression applications and electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection.

BCcomponents' surface mount MLV range is available in the miniaturised 0603 package, in line with industry trends in the telecom and automotive markets for smaller varistors. It is also ideal for use in a wide range of applications including consumer applications, such as sound/vision appliances and EDP applications, such as PCs and modems.

The MLV series boasts other features that provide benefits to customers, such as enhanced circuit protection by having very short response times and inherent bi-directional clamping, low capacitance value (60 to 390 pF) which provides low leakage current, and is suitable for wave or reflow soldering allowing flexibility to customers. The MLV is also compliant to IEC 1000-4-2 standards.
