AVX manufactures a series of miniature ceramic chip components that combine capacitor and inductor elements in a single distributed constant circuit filter. Designated the W2H/W3H Series, these surface mountable chip filters are for EMI noise suppression in high-speed applications, broadband I/O filtering or Vcc power line conditioning.
The devices feature a unique construction that allows for series interconnect while also yielding extremely low inductance in high-speed applications. The chips offer good decoupling capabilities for all high di/dt environments while providing significant noise reduction in digital circuits up to nearly 5 GHz.
Other applications for the EMI filter chips include PA decoupling, DC/DC converters, power supervisory circuits, digital to RF filtering, telecom, portable electronics and automotive functions.
Offered in 0805 and 0612 case sizes, the W2H/W3H Series are available in 25, 50 and 100 V voltage ratings with capacitance ratings ranging from 22 to 100 000 pF. Featuring capacitance tolerances of +50/-20%, these filters feature DC resistance ratings of <0,15 Ohm. Current ratings range from 0,5 to 5 A.
Available in NP0 and X7R dielectrics, they have a standard operating temperature range of -55 to +125°C.
