Handheld waveform monitor for both digital and analog

8 May 2002 Test & Measurement

Tektronix offers a handheld waveform monitor for broadcasters, network operators, and content providers who need a fully portable instrument that can monitor both digital and analog signals from a single tool.

While the industry undergoes the digital transition, many facilities need to be able to monitor both analog and digital signals. The Tektronix WFM90D/91D is a handheld, battery-powered, composite analog and SD-SDI component digital waveform monitor that provides flexibility, portability, and powerful monitoring to users dealing with equipment installation, maintenance, and field production.

"Tektronix is focused on developing practical solutions to real problems using the same innovative approach we have brought to the video test industry for more than 55 years. Our broad range of analog and digital solutions enable us to best address our customers' needs as they transition to digital," said Todd Biddle, general manager, Video Business, Tektronix. "No matter if the customer is monitoring analog, standard-definition digital, or some combination of both, the WFM90D/91D provides an ideal solution."

An attribute of the WFM90D/91D is that it can enable quick fault isolation and provide for quick and easy camera balancing. It is equipped with a variety of display modes, including picture mode and vectorscope. The WFM90D accommodates NTSC/525 SD-SDI, and the WFM91D accommodates PAL/625 SD-SDI.
