Integrated switch for power supplies

Infineon Technology's advanced multichip packaging and OptiMOS technology can enable a highly compact and efficient power stage for DC/DC conversion in CPU supplies.

The company's integrated switch combines a complete DC/DC power stage for 12 V down to sub 2 V conversion in a single package.

Typical applications are for CPU supply circuits for PC mainboards, VRM modules, and DC/DC converters.

The chip's high efficiency is due to reduced static and dynamic losses with optimised gate driver and MOSFETs that use the latest technology.

Key feature are: 12 V; 30 A; 150°C maximum junction temperature; shoot-through and overtemperature protection; three-state input for power-down, and no external bootstrap components.

The integrated switch reduces overall part count and simplifies the layout. Comes in standard TO220-7 packages (SMD, straight leads, staggered leads).
