Vector modulation analysis can be added to spectrum analysers

By linking Agilent 89600 vector modulation analysis software to their ESA or PSA spectrum analysers, customers can couple world-class modulation evaluation and troubleshooting tools to their spectrum analysers' particular feature sets, says the company.

Agilent's ESA and PSA spectrum analysers have world-class spectrum analysis capability, and offer one-button standards-based measurement personalities. This tells RF engineers designing digital communications transmitters when their designs fail to perform according to the relevant standard. The 89 600 vector modulation analysis software then gives those designers the tools to discover why the designs failed.

Linking to the analyser is simple. The software runs on a PC, and the PC can connect to the analyser via LAN or GPIB. All of the 89 600's modulation evaluation and troubleshooting tools are then available to analyse the signal.
