Quad USB 2.0 data line protection device

The industry's first 4-line protection device to meet the stringent USB 2.0 requirements for high-speed data lines used in computing has been announced by ON Semiconductor. Claimed to deliver a line-to-line capacitance of only 2,5 picofarads (pf) typical - with a guaranteed maximum of 5 pf - the NUP4201 is a MicroIntegration device that offers a single-package integrated design for reduced part count. Integrated steering diodes in the device direct transients to either the positive side or to ground. An internal transient voltage suppression (TVS) diode prevents transient over-voltage on both the power line and data lines.
