High voltage aluminium electrolyte capacitors

The newly developed B43560/580 Series with screw terminals is suited for high-voltage applications at temperatures up to 105°C. Manufactured by EPCOS, the use of new anode foils allowed up to 120% higher capacitance to be attained compared with alternatives available on the market.

A highly compact design also means better thermal resistance values. Thermal losses were minimised by using high-conductance electrolytes. These aluminium electrolytic capacitors are consequently also distinguished by an outstanding high current-handling capacity.

The number of capacitors to be connected in parallel for a specific current stress can thus be reduced, resulting in fewer capacitors, simpler circuits, less space requirement, lower weight and a reduced system price. Weight reduction plays an increasingly important role today, particularly in traction applications. An optimised low-temperature response also makes this series usable at ambient temperatures down to -40°C.
