Ultra fast MOSFET/IGBT drivers

19 June 2002 Power Electronics / Power Management

Ixys has added the dual 2 A IXD_402 and the single 9 A IXD_409 MOSFET/IGBT drivers to its IC product family. Both are low side drivers and are available in either inverting (IXDI...) or noninverting (IXDN...) configuration. The dual IXDF402 can also be operated in differential mode. Different package options are available, including industrial standard 8-pin and 16-pin SOIC, 5-pin TO-220, 5-pin TO-263 and 8-pin DIP housings. The drivers operate over a very wide supply volt range, from 4,5 V to 25 V. This 25 V rating makes them ideal for driving discrete IGBTs requiring 15 V gate bias as well as increasing their reliability. Both devices can be driven by either TTL or CMOS input signals. A very low propagation delay time and very low output impedance make them optimal for driving fast power MOSFETs and ultra-fast IGBTs.
