NetTest's TUNICS-Evolution is an all-in-one passive optical component test solution.
A natural extension of NetTest's world class tunable laser capabilities, TUNICS-Evolution can reduce testing time and costs for engineers by achieving fast and accurate measurements that validate designs and ensure product quality.
Designed for DWDM narrow-band filter spectral characterisation, it integrates a sweeping, ASE-free tunable laser source and two optical power meters into a single mainframe. This functionality traditionally resides in two separate testing units. By combining the laser source and power meters into a single unit, engineers avoid using multiple instruments. This speeds up both set-up and testing time. TUNICS-Evolution models cover a broad spectral range operating within the E, S, C and L bands and features 1 pm resolution and ±3 pm wavelength accuracy.
The TUNICS-Evolution can operate in two modes: one that enables operation at a fixed wavelength for in-process alignment, and a sweeping mode that can be used during final testing. All the familiar optical spectrum analyser features are available such as a large 30,5 cm display and typical OSA software features and applications. For example, scan and speed can be set up depending on the type of measurement, such as realtime spectral or in-process monitoring as well as detailed final testing.
Two models are available: one covering the 1425-1525 nm (E+S bands) and one covering the 1525-1625 (C+L bands).
