Infineon's low power hall IC switch, the TLE 4917 offers an economical answer to reed switches. It is designed as a highly reliable replacement of reed switches in fully automatic assembly applications.
Key features: only 10 µW power consumption; min. supply voltage of 2,4 V; omnipolar magnetic switching characteristics; switching characteristic selectable by programming pin; tiny SMD package: P-TSOP-6 (pin-compatible to SOT-23); standard SMD package for fully automatic assembly in high volume production lines; mercury-free; P-TSOP-6-2 package.
Typical applications are for cover detection, closure detection for battery powered devices eg flip phones (cordless and cellular), palms, notebooks, dockingstations, portable CD players, etc. Also suited for door position detection in white goods, eg washing machines, dishwasher, dryer, refrigerator.
