The MathWorks and Keithley Instruments have announced new hardware and software interface capabilities for data acquisition applications.
Local MathWorks agent Opti-Num Solutions was responsible for developing the code that supports a wide range of Keithley Instruments data acquisition boards. This means that users of Keithley's data acquisition boards can now communicate with their devices directly from MATLAB via an interface provided with the MATLAB Data Acquisition Toolbox.
The Data Acquisition Toolbox provides users with interfaces for analog input, analog output and digital I/O from multiple suppliers of PC-compatible data acquisition hardware. Keithley data acquisition boards offer instrument-grade measurement precision in resolutions from 8 to 20 bits with a broad range of analog and digital I/O capabilities in both ISA and PCI formats. Users can also employ the MATLAB Instrument Control Toolbox to interface with Keithley instruments via the GPIB (IEEE-488) standard.
