Clare is offering what it claims is the industry's first greyscale organic light emitting diode (OLED) controller for commercial markets. The new MXED301 row and column driver/controller combination - designed for all monochrome, passive-matrix OLED displays - features a 128-column current-sourcing anode driver and 80 common-cathode row drivers, supports standard digital interfaces and connects directly to OLED display panels.
The MXED301's well-matched current drivers and user provisions accommodate specific panel characteristics and ensure uniform luminance and high-quality greyscaling, while active pixel monitoring and supply voltage control options guarantee minimum power dissipation over the lifetime of the display module. The MXED301 was developed in a row-by-column modular design to ensure new aspect ratios can be quickly accommodated and has a high degree of built-in programmability, allowing the driver to cover a range of material types while providing luminance control.
