New distribution agreement for cabling accessories and peripheral products

Nexgen Fibreplus has signed an agreement with Queensbury Wholesalers in terms of which it will distribute the company's range of Gigacore cabling accessories and peripheral products in Gauteng. The locally designed - and Chinese-manufactured to license - range consists of patch panels, data and voice outlets, connectors and structured cabling components.
Nexgen Fibreplus CEO Shireen Govender says that a key advantage of the offerings is their compatibility with other platforms, making them ideally suitable for applications where investments in legacy infrastructures are important to the customer. "For example, the Gigacore Category 6 cabling components are backwards compatible with Category 5e - and vice-versa - allowing a combination of Category 5 and Category 6 cabling to coexist and even share patch panels," she says.
Cleverne Oliver, MD of Queensbury Wholesalers, says the appointment of Nexgen Fibreplus will expand his company's footprint in South Africa and set the stage for the appointment of a number of additional Gigacore certified installers. "In association with Nexgen Fibreplus we are looking to appoint certified installers. However, our criteria are strict as we insist on a high standard of expertise and knowledge from our partners.
"Only these installers are able to fully certify a site based on industry standards and specifications - and then to back the Gigacore 15 year warranty on the installation."
Oliver says skills transfer play a significant role in his company's operations and, together with Nexgen Fibreplus, a comprehensive training programme has been planned for Nexgen Fibreplus staff and their customers.
