The new 1GA cap from mec is optimised for use with foil overlays. Compared with conventional membrane panels it provides an extremely rugged and cost-effective solution with increased reliability, enhanced product life and improved tactile feel according to the manufacturer.
Overall switch height using the 1GA cap is 12,5 mm but when used in combination with the mec 2S variable height extender, the 1GA cap can be set to any required operating height between 17,5 and 22,5 mm.
This cap is designed to be used with the Multimec 3F switch that has a lifetime of more than 10 million operations, is sealed to IP67 and is available for both through-hole and surface mount production. A high temperature version has a working temperature of up to 160°C and the 1GA cap can also be used at this temperature.
