Field strength measuring system gets enhanced software

Wavetek Wandel Goltermann (WWG) has introduced new measurement transfer software that allows field strength measuring equipment to be remotely controlled, removing the need for operators to enter the measuring location. The ETS-1 computer program has a Windows user interface, which can remotely control equipment for measuring field strengths in both high- and low-frequency ranges. The new software is particularly suitable for taking both single and continuous readings, even where field strengths are extremely high.
The PC Transfer Set includes a fibre-optic cable and an optical/electrical converter. These are used to connect the field strength-measuring equipment in the EFA and EMR product lines, or RadMan, to the serial RS232 interface of the user's PC. The software has a user-friendly interface, which can capture current measurement values, display them and save them to disk. The program can also be used to read and display at a later time any measurement values that have been stored in the equipment.
The remote control facility allows users to pre-program both single and continuous measurements. With a simple click of the mouse, data can be saved on the PC in tables, making it easy to process and analyse the readings using common evaluation programs such as Excel.
