ISO deadline looms

More than 2000 ISO 9000-certified companies in South Africa must update their quality system before December 2003 in order to meet the new ISO requirements. This provides a perfect opportunity for them to enhance their competitive edge and improve profitability
So says CS Holdings business development director Danie du Toit who believes ISO certification is a means to achieve sustainably improved profitability if implemented correctly. "ISO 9001:2000 can help all types of organisations achieve standards of quality recognised throughout the world. With ISO 9001:2000 having placed the emphasis on processes, the right approach will deliver significant additional business benefit beyond ensuring certification to the new standard."
