Device for measurement and protection of high current systems

25 September 2002 Test & Measurement

The LKAT Plus from LEM high current systems is a noncontact high current measurement system designed for larger conductors and buswork. Suited for industrial environments such as electrochemical processing, LKAT Plus is superior to shunts in rectifier control applications combining measurement and protection in a single, easy to install system. The LKAT system measures the actual DC output of the rectifier and is therefore the best choice for control compared to systems that measure only the AC input to the transformer. The LKAT Plus provides both measurement and a relay output for reverse current protection in a single, ruggedised system. The optional 'Protection extensions' provides additional functionality including a second independently scaled analog output and additional user configurable relays for more sophisticated control and protection applications.

All versions include LEM's exclusive 'accuracy diagnostics' which continuously monitors the systems' performance, notifying operators if performance or accuracy is affected by external or internal events. Available for measurement ranges up to 100 kA.
