Spescom MeasureGraph has announced the availability of a new portable data acquisition system, Vision, from Nicolet Technologies, a pioneer in the development of recorders for the physical measurement marketplace.
According to the manufacturer, the Nicolet Vision combines the best elements of DAT/AIT recorders, oscillographs and oscilloscopes in a new vision of portable data acquisition. Like an oscillograph, the Vision has realtime scrolling, triggered or XY displays. Like a tape recorder, it has removable storage and very long record times. It also offers many features one would expect in a more expensive research system, like digital filtering and real-time measurements.
Vision's universal amplifiers provide 500 V isolation, with 16-bit digitisers on every channel providing high dynamic range with no crosstalk or aggregate limit. Even with eight channels at 100 kSa/s each, recording time reaches an unprecedented 80 minutes says Nicolet. 16 channels at 1 kSa/s can be recorded for over three days. A sound channel is available to record comments, and 8 digital inputs record status bits, frequency or RPM.
* 8 or 16 channels of acquisition.
* 100 kSa/s, 16-bit A/Ds on each channel.
* 20 kHz analog bandwidth.
* 'Universal' isolated signal conditioning support a wide input range, thermocouples and 4-20 mA inputs.
* Rugged, lightweight enclosure (9,1 kg) and operates up to 20 g.
* Continuous recording at full acquisition speed to 8 GB hard disk or 2 GB removable JAZ drive.
* 100 Base-T Ethernet and IrDA connection to external devices.
Nicolet Technologies, a ThermoSpectra company, develops, manufactures and markets state-of-the-art electronic instrumentation used in a broad range of automotive, power, aerospace and other research applications. Spescom MeasureGraph Test Systems is the sole local distributor for Nicolet Technologies.
