SMD SAW resonators for automated production

1 March 2000 Passive Components

A 20% footprint reduction, with options of narrower resonant frequency bandwidths, is featured by Murata's new SAW resonator range.

These are single port devices with resonant frequencies from 315,95 to 433,92 MHz. Tolerances are ±80, ±100 or ±150 kHz, with a choice in some instances. Maximum resonant loss is 2,5 dB at peak and the operating temperature range is -10 to 60°C. Short-term withstanding voltage between each terminal is 10 V d.c. and insulation resistance is 100 My minimum. Maximum profile height is 1,7 mm and the footprint is 5 x 4 mm.

It is suitable for reflow soldering (max 240°C). Hand soldering in production is not recommended. Isopropyl alcohol and ethyl alcohol cleaning agents may be applied. Exposure to ultrasonic vibration, static electricity and sudden changes in the temperature of cleaning fluid should be avoided. Full guidance on how to get the best from these components is available on request.

For use in remote keyless entry and data transfers, there are nine parts in the range.
