Fast analog switches

9 October 2002 Switches, Relays & Keypads

Intersil's four high-performance analog switches, the ISL5120/1/2/3/4 offer low on resistance (19 Ohm) and fast switching times (28/20 ns, Ton/Toff) for switches in the +15 V maximum range. Industry-standard switches in this range typically have ON resistances of 30 Ohm and higher and switching times of 35/25 ns and higher. These +2,7 to +12 V (+15 V max) single-supply switches are available in dual single-pole single-throw (SPST) or single-pole double-throw (SPDT) configurations in small SOIC or smaller SOT-23 packages. Other features include a wide bandwidth for high frequency applications, and very high OFF isolation and cross-talk rejection. Signal response is consistently flat even past 300 MHz, over a wide voltage range, and stable for varying analogue signal levels. At 1 MHz, OFF isolation is greater than 70 dB in 50 W systems, decreasing approximately 20 dB per decade as frequency increases.
