Fibre-optic EMI adapters

Molex has developed fibre-optic EMI shielding adapters to address mechanical designers requirements. They increase shielding effectiveness to greater than -50 dB at 4 GHz while enhancing front panel aesthetics compared to traditional plastic adapters. Molex's patented shutter system provides superior dust protection and eye safety features.

The EMI adapters, constructed of die cast bodies with an EMI gasket that seals the adapter to the panel, can be used in telecom and datacom front panel applications and test equipment. Two mounting orientations are available: the traditional straight orientation that meets industry standard mounting dimensions; and the 45° angled orientation that allows for a lower cable exit profile with a unique cut-out for each adapter. Additional mounting flexibility is provided with the option to choose between screw or snap mounting style adapters.
