Transformers offer quality and reliability

6 November 2002 Power Electronics / Power Management

ERA's speciality is the automated manufacturing of high quality transformers to meet the specific requirements of its customers. The company offers a wide range of standard transformers with commonly used input voltages and output voltages with the following VA ratings:

* Mini-line EE 20 (0,8 VA-0,5 VA): come in two power ranges with either 0,35 VA or 0,5 VA. This feature increases the product spectrum and saves both cost and space. The Mini-Line transformers require 60% less room than the Print-Line 30 models.

* Print-Line EI 30 (0,5 VA-2,8 VA): this line has a version that is suitable for just about any application. A highly automated production process guarantees an optimum price/performance ratio and PPM quality levels which meet stringent demands of the household appliance and entertainment electronics sectors.

* Print-Line EI 38 (3,2 VA): a direct continuation of the Print-Line EI 30, with a power rating of 3,2 VA, it rounds out the application range for small electronic equipment.

* Print-Line EI 42 to EI 54 (5 VA-16 VA): to meet the needs of more powerful electronic equipment, ratings range from 5 VA-16 VA for electronic controls for washing machines to heating and boiler controls.

* Standard transformers with mounting brackets (5 VA-50 VA): in many electronic applications, the components must be able to withstand extreme mechanical stresses. The vibration of a washing machine, for example, generates strong mechanical forces on the heavy transformer. With this in mind, ERA has developed an entire series of transformers with tabs for hardware mounting. These transformers provide more stability and strength on printed circuit boards as well as providing power ratings that extend from 5 VA to 50 VA.

* Low profile transformers (0,8 VA-30 VA): this range of low profile transformers has power for user specific ratings from 0,8 VA-30 VA. They offer the ideal solution when design specifications are limited by the amount of installation height. Dual primary and secondary voltages allow for user specific connection which in turn increases the flexibility of circuit design.
