Erni has extended the Bus-Interface Connector Family with the Erbic Profibus Switch which allows flexible design of Profibus systems and 'hassle-free' system extension.
The external switch that turns the termination off and on is its key feature. In a network extension, the appropriate active termination connector can easily be switched to a node connector without terminating the system. Additionally, whole troubleshooting the network, the appropriate node connector can be terminated and separated from adjacent network participants. This allows the remaining system to continue operation without disruption.
The Erbic Profibus Switch is suitable for use at data rates up to 12 Mbps, through integrated SMT inductors. A second Erbic Profibus switch with a trouble-shooting/servicing D-Sub is available on request.
Technical features: horizontal cable outlet; suitable for use at D-Sub pin configuration Profibus; external switch to activate and deactivate termination; activated termination separates bus participants.
