Ethernet compliance test software for oscilloscopes

12 February 2003 Test & Measurement

Tektronix claims it is now able to offer the industry's most comprehensive Ethernet compliance test software for use with its high-performance digital oscilloscopes. With the emergence of Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) and its 10-fold increase in data rates, Ethernet compliance testing is now more complex and not readily possible using standard test and measurement tools.

According to the company, until now the stopgap methodology relied upon human intervention in the testing process, which can affect the repeatability and reliability of the testing. The company's TDSET2 Ethernet Compliance Test Software, coupled with the superior signal fidelity of the TDS6000 and TDS/CSA7000 Series oscilloscopes, is now offering networking equipment designers the tool they need to ensure their product's compliance to all three electrical (10Base-T, 100Base-T, and 1000Base-T) Ethernet standards.

The TDSET2 Ethernet Compliance Test Package, coupled with TDS6000 and TDS/CSA7000 Series oscilloscopes, can enhance efficiency with faster validation cycles and greater reliability, says the manufacturer. It offers comprehensive testing, such as template, amplitude, jitter, etc, simplifies the testing process and shrinks validation cycles from hours to minutes.
