Xilinx supports new synthesis solution from Mentor Graphics

Xilinx has announced its support for the new Mentor Graphics' Precision Synthesis tool within the Xilinx ISE Alliance EDIF-based flow, complete with full support for all Xilinx FPGAs. Developed to address the synthesis requirements of next-generation FPGAs, including the Xilinx Virtex-II Pro devices, Precision Synthesis is an essential tool for Platform FPGA designs with their complex timing challenges and system performance requirements.
The scalable Precision Synthesis environment maximises the performance of Xilinx devices, offering an intuitive design flow, automatic optimisation features, and a new incremental timing engine.
Xilinx says that customers using Mentor Graphics LeonardoSpectrum Level 3 synthesis solution will be automatically upgraded to Precision Synthesis. Mentor will also continue to provide ongoing device support and further software releases for its LeonardoSpectrum Level 1 and 2 customers.
