MicroOptical has developed its Instrument Viewer (models SV-3 and CV-1), eyeglass eyewear-mounted displays for test and measurement applications.
The Instrument Viewer is a hands-free, portable and colour display that connects to test instruments such as oscilloscopes and flaw detectors.
MicroOptical claims its Instrument Viewers are the world's smallest, lightest and most ergonomic display. A patented combination of optics, electronics and a microdisplay allows technicians to put colour text and graphical images continuously in their field of view while they work. The large, virtual image created appears with no obstruction to vision so users can still focus on their work, says the company.
Model SV-3 is suited for flaw detectors, oscilloscopes, thickness gauges, and other devices with VGA outputs, while the CV-1 performs equally well with borescopes and other instruments with NTSC or PAL video output. The Instrument Viewers offer benefits both for bench and mobile applications. Easily read in daylight, the company says they help reduce mistakes and save time by providing information directly in the worker's field of vision, avoiding the need to constantly look back and forth between a monitor and the equipment under evaluation.
