LEM has introduced the DF series of current transducers for accurate measurement of low DC currents for 10 to 50 mA, without breaking the primary cable.
The new series provides a ±2% measurement accuracy and has galvanic isolation between the primary and the secondary circuits of up to 5 kV. A shield allows the DF series to be used in harsh EMC environments without any effect on accuracy. Outputs are adapted for many types of control board (PLC, computers ...) using finger-safe terminals. The supply voltage is ±12 Vd.c., allowing bi-direction measurement, which is particularly useful for battery monitoring. The case can be fixed by screw or on a DIN rail via an easy mounting adaptor. A large aperture (25 mm diameter) allows the transducer to be used for simple or differential current measurement.
The broad current measurement range offered by the DF series makes it suitable for a wide variety of applications, including ground fault and leakage current detection, battery monitoring, DC meter and DC power supply monitoring.
