Advantech's Pentium 4 full-sized single board computer (SBC), the PCA-6184, is designed for mainstream and high-end performance markets. The PCA-6184 is best suited for applications requiring a powerful computing engine. With rich features including VGA (AGP4X), dual Ethernet controllers, USB, and fundamental I/O expansion ports, the PCA-6184 is said to be an 'all-in-one' solution to meet any processing demand.
Advantech's PCA-6184 uses Intel's 845D architecture that allows for greater system speed and memory bandwidth while still remaining cost-effective. It supports Intel's socket 478 Pentium 4 processor (FSB 400 MHz) and processor speed is up to 2,4 GHz and above. An auxiliary power connector is available to ensure adequate power supply. The PCA-6184 supports 2 GB DDR200/DDR266 SDRAM of memory providing customers with a high volume of memory support required for many of today's high-end applications.
Another exclusive feature of the PCA-6184 is the connectivity to Advantech's SNMP-1000 intelligent HTTP/SNMP system manager. With the use of this HTTP/SNMP system manager, customers are able to remotely manage and monitor the system by browsing a Web page via their network connection. An onboard hardware monitor is also built in to allow customers to monitor CPU and fan status by software utility.
Featuring ATI Rage Pro 128 4XL and with dedicated 32 MB VGA memory, the PCA-6184 offers superior 3D and 2D visual quality. In addition, the AGP4X interface provides vivid VGA performance for multimedia and graphic-demanding applications. Dual Intel 82559 10/100 Mbps Fast Ethernet controllers are built into the PCA-6184. Intel's 82559 is a fully integrated 10/100Base-T LAN solution and performs high-speed data transmission over 32 bit/33 MHz PCI bus. The high reliability and superior performance provided by Intel's 82559 Ethernet controllers are crucial for various network applications in the industrial PC market.
