Clare's OptoMOS solid-state relay with output transient protection uniquely combines a high voltage '1 Form A' relay with a 600 W transorb in a single surface mount package. The CPC1335P is capable of blocking voltages up to 350 V and offers a low on resistance of 35 Ω. The output protection transorb is robust enough to handle 600 W peak power and has a max stand-off voltage of 40 V.
This relay offers an attractive replacement for reed relays in security system applications such as passive infrared detectors, glass break sensors and other perimeter security equipment. The CPC1335P's surface mount package consumes less board space and the solid-state relay offers important advantages for security systems such as immunity to magnetic tampering and higher reliability than reed relays. Together with the benefit of output transorb protection in a single package, this provides designers a means to meet the requirements of EN50130-4 for class 3 installations. In addition, the low input drive current allows designers to operate the relay directly from logic level signals without the external components necessary when using electromechanical relay solutions.
