New range of DMMs to meet a changing market

26 March 2003 Test & Measurement

Spescom MeasureGraph has introduced a range of digital multimeters developed to meet the evolving requirements of a changing market.

Over the past five years, the worldwide marketplace for DMMs has undergone rapid change and expansion. Extensive primary consumer research shows increased growth in the use of test tools by professional engineers, technicians, electricians and others. This expansion of the market is fuelled by new digitally-based manufacturing technologies that are reshaping business and industry.

These technologies require specialised installation, service and maintenance procedures that rely heavily on the accurate measurements that DMMs provide. In addition, the need for data and documentation continues to grow, driven by increased regulation, ISO quality standards and safety concerns.

An increasing number of technicians and other workers have reserved a permanent spot on their toolbelt for their meter. For many of these professionals, particularly engineers and technicians, the meter is indispensable. Without it, they simply cannot do their job. This market expansion has provided a growing niche of meters that provide good capabilities at a moderate price.

Meterman is a new brand of test tools that is targeted specifically at the working man. These workers look for a test tool that is right for the job with the features and functions they need at a price they can afford. Meterman offers a comprehensive range of 60 meters and accessories that encompasses electrical testers, clamp-on meters, component testers, specialty testers, and bench meters as well as a full line of DMMs.

Tools range from low-cost basic testers to high-performance autorangers to true heavy-duty DMMs for use in design, evaluation, installation, production, service and troubleshooting of electronic and electrical equipment and systems. Meterman tools feature large digital displays, extra fusing, safety test leads, Digi-Glo backlighting, live voltage safety testers, wrong input user warning beepers, and patented new T-shape designs to easily fit the hand.

From the basic, homeowner/DIY Model DM7, to the heavy duty, drop-proof, water-proof HD Series, to high accuracy, full-featured, true-rms measuring DMMs, Meterman can provide a product for just about any application.
