Hammond Manufacturing’s EJSS family is available in an unpainted smooth, brushed finish in 304 or 316 grade stainless steel. Sealed to IP66, it is designed for use as an instrument enclosure, an electric, hydraulic or pneumatic control housing, electrical junction box or terminal wiring enclosure.
Stainless steel is an excellent option for use in areas where corrosion resistance and material strength are important. If severe corrosion is a particular concern, Hammond recommends the 316 grade versions, where the addition of 2% molybdenum offers significantly greater protection. Common stainless steel applications include food processing where the enclosure may be hosed down with corrosive chemicals for cleaning, in seaside locations where salt spray is present, in various oil and gas industry applications, and installations related to water treatment.
The EJSS family is available in 22 sizes, ranging from 102 x 102 x 76 mm to 406 x 356 x 254 mm. All but the two smallest sizes are supplied complete with a 1,6 mm thick internal unpainted galvanised steel panel.
