31 March 2021 News

Pinnacle’s ICT infrastructure division, Datanet, is pleased to announce that it has signed a distribution agreement with CommScope. CommScope continues to lead the evolution of wired and wireless technology to meet the exacting demands and growing expectations of a connected society across healthcare, higher education and hospitality. By tapping into Ruckus networking, organisations of all sizes can transform their networks and provide an exceptional user experience that is simple, reliable and adaptable.

Government-imposed lockdowns have resulted in demands on businesses changing, with the physical moving to digital seemingly overnight. Weeks became months and what started with business continuity is now seeing organisations shift their focus towards what’s next.

“Universities, schools, hotels and other organisations are building better connectivity experiences for staff, employees, students and guests while simplifying life for IT departments. This includes minimising downtime that’s inevitable in complex networks by providing IT teams with the tools to pinpoint and resolve those incidents that do arise,” said Riaan Graham, director of Ruckus Networks’ CommScope business in South Africa. “With technologies like Ruckus Analytics, IT teams are creating a path to an autonomous, self-healing network.”

Looking to the future, a Wi-Fi network may have several roles to play related to staff communications, facility access and controls, inventory control, management of remote security devices and more CommScope’s Ruckus Wi-Fi can improve the way services are offered by delivering faster and clearer communications between departments and people located in different physical spaces.

Datanet will distribute the following technology:

Ethernet switches – working seamlessly with the Ruckus Wi-Fi access points, Ruckus SmartZone network controllers and Ruckus Cloud, the Ruckus ICX family of switches deliver high-performance, cost-effective access solutions to users.

Ruckus Cloud – easily manage your network from a single web dashboard or native mobile application without needing a degree in IT. Thanks to the advanced artificial intelligence and patented learning techniques, Ruckus Cloud reacts speedily to service-affecting issues.

Network controllers – perfect for those who like to manage their network using a single network element. The Ruckus SmartZone controllers enhance security and minimise troubleshooting.

“After a successful and longstanding partnership with CommScope, Datanet is excited to add additional networking innovation that will most certainly simplify and enhance user experience. CommScope is dedicated to empowering organisations with connectivity infrastructure that closes the gap of the digital divide. CommScope works with an ecosystem of partners around the world to create the networks that make smart cities run,” said Eugene Botes, CommScope brand manager at Datanet.
