Itech Electronics has introduced the latest addition to its already expansive range of products, the IT7900 programmable regenerative grid simulator and 4-quadrant AC source.
The IT7900, which is designed to test grid-tied products, integrates the functions of a built-in RLC anti-islanding load, a grid simulator and a power meter in one unit. Users can configure parameters such as RLC, active power and reactive power of each phase to simulate linear and non-linear grid loading under islanding mode. The built-in power meter can measure harmonics, power factor, crest factor and more.
The unit features high power density – 15 kVA in 3U height – and the output power ranges from 5 kVA all the way up to 960 kVA if units are paralleled. The IT7900 is power-regenerative, allowing about 90% of the power generated by DUTs (devices under test) to be fed back to the AC grid.
The IT7900 series has an AC, DC, AC+DC or DC+AC output capability and operating modes include constant current, constant voltage and constant power. Comprehensive selectable working modes are single-phase, three-phase, reversed phase and multi-channel. Programmable output impedance allows simulation of real-world utility grid impedance.
Compliance tests include LVRT, phase jump, frequency variation and harmonic injection. The IT7900 supports regulatory testing including IEC61000-4-11, 4-13, 4-14, 4-28 and others.
