1600 and 3200 W high-power switching power supply series

27 July 2022 Power Electronics / Power Management

The NSP-1600 and NSP-3200 switched mode power supplies (SMPS) are upgrades to the current range of SMPS by Mean Well. Due to the supply chain woes which have affected the lead time of some high-power products this year, this new power supply series has been developed for better cost performance and long-term availability.

The NSP series, which is available in either 1600 or 3200 W designs, implements smart fan speed control for quieter operation in enclosed spaces. They have a wider operating range up to 400 V DC with a universal AC input of 90 to 264 V, and an overall efficiency up to 94,5%. The series has been designed with reliability in mind and has a MTBF of greater than 600k hours.

Models in the NSP-1600 series have outputs of 12, 24, 36 or 48 V DC with dimensions of 300 x 85 x 41 mm (length x width x height). The two models in the NSP-3200 series, with dimensions of 325,8 x 107 x 41 mm, provide either 24 or 48 V at the output.

The SMPSs are suitable for varied applications including semiconductor equipment, heavy industrial machinery and automation, telecommunications and data centres.
