Instrotech offers the latest in Optris infrared measurement, the IRmobile app, that allows users to monitor and analyse infrared temperature measurement on a connected smartphone or tablet. This app works on most Android devices running Android 4.4 and above equipped with a micro-USB port supporting USB OTG.
The CS Micro is a compact pyrometer for measuring temperatures ranging from -40 to 1030°C. The pyrometer has a spectral range of 8 to 14 µm, and a response time of 25 ms. An LED display is built into the pyrometer for signalling an alarm status, target assistance, self-diagnosis or temperature-code display. The instrument can be operated via simple two-wire installation or be connected via USB.
Using a CS Micro pyrometer plugged into the USB port of a smartphone or tablet, the app will start automatically, powering the pyrometer via the USB port. Different digital temperature values are displayed in the temperature vs time real-time graph. The ability to zoom into the graph to view more detail and small signal changes is provided.
Features of the IRmobile Android app connected to the CS Micro pyrometer include setup of emissivity and transmissivity, scaling of 4-20 mA/0-10 V output and setup of alarm output. Temperature units displayed via the app can be changed between Celsius and Fahrenheit. Saving of configurations and temperature vs time graphs can be done as well as opening and viewing any previously saved graphs.
These inexpensive IR pyrometers are perfectly suited for OEM solutions and work ideally for multiple installations of infrared measurement points.
