The launch of Powertrend is set to strengthen Powerhouse Holdings Group's market share in the niche component sector encompassing power semi- conductors and associated products. The company, under the direction of newly appointed Managing Director, Mike King, officially commenced trade in February.
Powerhouse Holdings Group currently supplies components via its distribution company, Spectratech. However, Group Managing Director, Earle Wainstein, felt it necessary to extend this base even further.
With no less than 15 years' experience in the power semiconductor business, King is confident about the future. "As a result of being fully geared towards the market we are able to supply components for UPSs right through to welding apparatus, AC/DC drives, com- panies requiring soft starters and AC controllers. At this stage the demand is steady and this has resulted in a stable growth area," he explained. "Despite my move to Powertrend, I will continue to work closely with the Components Group. I would also like to reassure the clients that I have worked with over the past years that they can look forward to an uninterrupted service and supply from Powertrend now and in the future.
King is confident that Powertrend will become a strong contributor to the Group's overall growth. "We look forward to breaking into the power semiconductor and associated components sector and know we will be a force to be reckoned with. We believe the time is right to embark on a new venture as part of the Powerhouse Group.
King has spent the past 12 years marketing EUPEC components, the result of AEG and Siemens merging their product line.
