Space SMPM and SMPM-Lock connectors

31 August 2026 Interconnection

Radiall has released the Space SMPM and SMPM-Lock, miniature Space connectors for high-frequency performance and high-density applications.

The Space SMPM connector is now 30% smaller than SMP, making it well suited for blind mate board-to-board and module-to-module applications, while providing greater flexibility to accommodate alignment tolerances.

The Space SMPM-Lock connector combines a robust locking mechanism with increased retention force in a package that is 42% smaller than the Space SMP-Lock. It delivers a secure RF connection in demanding environments subject to extreme temperature variations, vibration and shock.

The connectors offer high-frequency performance of up to 40 GHz, or 32 GHz for SMPM-Lock, in an ultra-miniature design. They operate across a temperature range of -65°C to 125°C and provide EMI shielding of 80 dB at 3 GHz and 75 dB from 3 to 40 GHz. Quick and easy connection and disconnection is supported, with smooth-bore and full-detent configurations available. The connectors are also intermateable with GPPO.
