As HHB products including the FlashMic digital recording microphone are increasingly relied upon by broadcasters and news organisations around the world, the UK-based pro audio technology manufacturer has announced the appointment of Concilium Technologies as its exclusive distributor for sub-Saharan Africa.
Headquartered just to the south of Pretoria, Concilium already represents leading broadcast audio brands including DHD, Harris and Maycom, and has installed and commissioned DHD digital audio mixing desks in the flagship SABC foyer project, requiring not only audio skills, but also a sound understanding of network technologies as well.
“Concilium has an excellent broadcast and professional audio customer base in South Africa and in other neighbouring countries, and has a proven track record in the market,” says Matthew Fletcher, international sales manager for HHB. “With our broad offering of products in this market, it is important that HHB works with local partners who can deliver a high level of service to broadcasters and other audio professionals in their region. And we are confident that we have found that expertise in Concilium.
Speaking on behalf of Concilium Technologies, managing director Steve Alves says: “Concilium has the necessary infrastructure and credentials as a leading supplier of advanced technology solutions to the broadcast industry. We recognise in HHB a manufacturer with a reputation for innovation, and one whose products are used by most of the world’s leading broadcasters,” – the latter being a reference to the HHB FlashMic user list which includes ABC Radio, Aljazeera, the BBC, Bloomberg, BSkyB, Capital Radio, NBC, NHK Tokyo, Radio France, RAI Italy, WDR Germany and many more.
