The PCI-1750 has 16 digital input channels and 16 digital output channels, all with 2500 V d.c. isolation protection. The input channels support both wet contact and dry contact connections, making the PCI-1750 very easy to interface with other devices. The onboard 16-bit isolated counter and the 32-bit internal timer can be used for counting events and generating watchdog interrupts.
Providing 48 TTL-level digital input or output lines, the PCI-1751 emulates mode 0 of the 8255 PPI chip and users can configure each I/O port for either input or output. One of the distinguishing features of the PCI-1751 is that the user can set any port to be an output port by using a jumper. Ports thus designated are disabled from being software configurable as input ports and behave as default output ports on system start-up or reset. By contrast, most cards on the market make all ports default input ports. Two 16-bit timers and one counter can be used for counting events and generating watchdog interrupts.
