Bourns has released three new series of high-current gas discharge tubes (GDTs), targeting industrial and telecommunication applications requiring high current handling capabilities.
The 2-electrode GDT devices are offered with DC breakdown voltages ranging from 230 to 2200 V and maximum surge current ratings of 25 to 100 kA. The 2061-xx-A series features a maximum surge rating (8/20 μs) of 60 kA, the 2063-xx-A series 100 kA and the heavy-duty 2097-xx-D series 25 kA.
The GDTs have diameters of 11,8 mm and are suitable for use in surge protection devices (SPDs), power supplies, service entrance protection, branch panels and DIN-Rail protectors. Each of the series is RoHS compliant and UL recognised.
