Digi enhances Device Cloud

31 October 2012 Computer/Embedded Technology

Digi International has released several new enhancements to the iDigi Device Cloud allowing organisations to more easily improve business operations and maximise the value of their assets.

Upgrades include data visualisation tools for accessing and storing time-series data and alarm management and notification capabilities. Customers with development capabilities can quickly leverage these new features or can use professional services from Digi to create end-to-end solutions.

The data visualisation tools are part of the new iDigi Data Streams feature which allows users to upload and analyse time-series data and store it indefinitely on the iDigi Device Cloud. For example, machine temperature data that is recorded every minute can now be presented in charts to show temperature averages over the last hour, day or month with the click of a mouse.

This provides greater clarity into an organisation’s assets, allowing companies to increase device value and efficiency.

With the new alarms management and notification features, users can monitor the health of their device networks with greater sophistication. Users can define specific events that will trigger an alarm and send e-mail notifications.

Additional new features include device grouping capabilities that allow IT and operations departments to categorise and organise devices within their network, easing management of large-scale device deployments. With the Scheduled Operations feature, device management tasks such as firmware updates and software downloads can be automated.

The iDigi Device Cloud provides the infrastructure required to access, control, configure and upgrade unlimited devices securely over the Internet. Its secure and scalable platform meets the highest standards of reliability. With the iDigi Connector, a free software download, any device can seamlessly integrate with the iDigi Device Cloud, providing instant connectivity.

Companies can begin using the full featured iDigi Device Cloud immediately. An account includes free iDigi Manager Pro device management software for five devices, iDigi Web Services, iDigi Data Streams and 30 iDigi SMS per month.
